Step 11 of 24 · Your first day
Something done earlier
"Record something done earlier": what happened (arrived, left, asleep, a check, awake, a head count), the child, at what time, and why it is recorded now.
Watch out: The record keeps both times and the reason; it is how a day without a connection is entered from your paper notes.

More about this
For something that happened earlier today and was not tapped then: the record keeps both times, when it happened and when you recorded it, and the reason. It is also how a day without a connection is entered from your paper notes once connected. A sleep entry has to fit the child's other sleep entries that day: a check or a waking is for a time the child was recorded asleep, asleep for a time they were awake.
Your agency's words for people and its policies may differ; the screens are the same. The screen is from KeepCount 0.99.144, captured October 27, 2026 in a demonstration organization: everyone in it is fictional. Section numbers are O. Reg. 137/15 (General) under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, read on e-Laws on October 20, 2026. This explains how KeepCount works; it is not legal advice, and the Ministry's program advisors decide compliance.
