Step 7 of 29 · Your first day
Checks today
Checks today is the board of every room's counts and checks: done, coming up or overdue. A missed check is explained here and signed off by you.
Watch out: If you were one of the people at the missed check, another supervisor or an administrator signs it off.

More about this
Each cell is a check: the head counts, sleep checks, opening, playground, sleep monitors, sanitizing and closing, per room. "Record what happened" on a missed check asks what happened and what was done and records it as missed with its reason; "Sign off" is your signature on the explanation. A missed check explained and signed off is counted by the close-out and shown in the binder as a miss with a reason; a gap with no explanation stays a gap, and an inspector reads the explanation beside it. If you were one of the people at the missed check, another supervisor or an administrator signs it off. The day picker reads an earlier day. The legend reads done, recorded late, due, overdue, missed with an explanation, and missed, explained and signed off.
Your centre's words for people and its policies may differ; the screens are the same. The screen is from KeepCount 0.99.162, captured October 29, 2026 in a demonstration organization: everyone in it is fictional. Section numbers are O. Reg. 137/15 (General) under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, read on e-Laws on October 20, 2026. This explains how KeepCount works; it is not legal advice, and the Ministry's program advisors decide compliance.
