Step 14 of 24 · Your first day
Without a connection
Without a connection your taps are kept on this phone and sent when it is back. Keep Today open; children's names are never stored on the phone.
Watch out: Children's names are never stored on the phone: if the page closes, write arrivals, departures, checks and doses on paper with the times, and enter each as "done earlier" once connected.

More about this
The callout reads: "No connection. This is the day as of …, with what you have recorded since. Your taps are kept on this device and sent when the connection is back. Keep this page open until then: children's names are never stored on this phone, so after a reload the day cannot be shown without a connection. If it closes, write down arrivals, departures, checks and doses on paper with the times, and enter each as 'done earlier' once you are connected." The bar at the foot counts the records waiting to send, with "Send now".
Your agency's words for people and its policies may differ; the screens are the same. The screen is from KeepCount 0.99.144, captured October 27, 2026 in a demonstration organization: everyone in it is fictional. Section numbers are O. Reg. 137/15 (General) under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, read on e-Laws on October 20, 2026. This explains how KeepCount works; it is not legal advice, and the Ministry's program advisors decide compliance.
