Step 25 of 26 · Your first week
Without a connection
Without Wi-Fi, head counts, daily checks and outdoor times still record here and send themselves when the connection is back. Names and sign-ins wait.
Watch out: Names and health notes are never kept on the device. Until the connection is back, write arrivals, departures and sleep checks on paper with the times, then enter them.

More about this
The banner at the foot reads: "No connection. Rooms and medication doses are kept on this device and sent when the connection is back; other forms wait for the connection." A record saved this way shows "saved on this device; it sends when the connection is back" until it has gone, and "Send now" tries at once.
When My rooms is opened with no connection at all, it says: "No connection. You can count heads, record the daily checks and outdoor times now: they are kept on this device and sent when the connection is back. Children's names, the sign-in register and sleep checks come back with the connection: names are never stored on this device. Until then, write arrivals, departures and sleep checks on paper with the times; once connected, enter the sleep checks as 'This was done earlier' and the register as it stands." Photos are shared only while connected.
Your centre's words for people and its policies may differ; the screens are the same. The screen is from KeepCount 0.99.144, captured October 27, 2026 in a demonstration organization: everyone in it is fictional. Section numbers are O. Reg. 137/15 (General) under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, read on e-Laws on October 20, 2026. This explains how KeepCount works; it is not legal advice, and the Ministry's program advisors decide compliance.
