Step 20 of 24 · Your first week
Medication
Medication today: the scheduled doses, the medication given on symptoms, sunscreen and other products, from the parent's written authorization. Record the dose.
Watch out: Only from the parent's written authorization the agency added to the child's file (s. 40(1)); a missed dose opens an incident to record.

More about this
A drug or medication is given to a child only where a parent gives written authorization with a schedule of the times and amounts, is stored as its label instructs, and, under the written procedure the regulation asks for, a record is kept of each dose given (O. Reg. 137/15, s. 40(1)). The agency adds each authorization from the parent's written request to the child's file; the doses then show here with "Record the dose" (given, refused or missed, with the time and an observation). A missed dose opens an incident to record.
Your agency's words for people and its policies may differ; the screens are the same. The screen is from KeepCount 0.99.144, captured October 27, 2026 in a demonstration organization: everyone in it is fictional. Section numbers are O. Reg. 137/15 (General) under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, read on e-Laws on October 20, 2026. This explains how KeepCount works; it is not legal advice, and the Ministry's program advisors decide compliance.
